Suranne Jones is the latest celebrity to make a very convincing case for the cut, showing off her look in a recent Instagram post alongside the caption, "Back to school ?," hinting at the series 3 release of Vigil, coming Sunday 30 August. And while we're obviously here for the telly, it was her very chic in-between haircut that caught our attention.

As its name would suggest – and as Suranne's 'do demonstrates so beautifully – the collarbone bob is a cut that lands somewhere between the chin and the collarbone, either blunt or with soft, subtle layers. Now, unlike the traditional bob that we all know and love – which, FYI, generally stops around the jaw – this longer iteration gives you considerably more wiggle room. It can be swept into a low ponytail (see Suranne's interpretation below), worn loose or styled in curls, waves or poker-straight lengths.
