In a coup for Vogue, Meryl Streep and Anna Wintour have reunited for the cover of May's issue, marking the first time the acting legend and the magazine's editor-in-chief have appeared together.

The pair are photographed by Annie Leibovitz for the cover story, which accompanies the release of the forthcoming film sequel, The Devil Wears Prada 2.

Streep, who originated the role of Miranda Priestly in the 2006 original, reveals in the accompanying interview that she was initially hesitant to reprise the character. However, she was convinced by Anna Wintour herself, who called her when she heard about the project.

Anna Wintour, known for her impeccable style and exacting standards, quipped in the interview that she would never want Streep's job, while Streep countered that there's no way Wintour would want to be her.

The conversation touched on the longevity of fashion designers, dressing for work, and how clothes reflect one's personality - themes that resonate with the upcoming Costume Institute exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum, which Vogue is covering extensively in the issue.
