Vogue hunts for 50 new style stars in a coast-to-coast casting call
Vogue just declared open season on American cool. One week, 18-30-year-olds, every zip code eligible—no agents, no fees, just raw drip.

How the casting portal works
Between March 25 and April 1 the Vogue app becomes a pop-up audition stage. Upload three crisp photos, a 30-second video, and a micro-questionnaire. The brief: show us how you actually dress, not how an algorithm told you to. Filters, graphics, and mirror selfies are instant death; natural light and a friend behind the lens are your new best friends.
The prize is not a contract or a cash haul—it's better. Fifty finalists will be shot, styled, and published on Vogue.com in a sprawling digital portfolio that doubles as a generational time capsule. Submitted footage may reappear on Instagram, TikTok, even the print issue if the look skews iconic.
Biz Sherbert, the writer behind Gen-Z newsletter The Look, is curating the shortlist with Vogue fashion editors, a pairing that signals the magazine’s pivot from runway elitism to sidewalk anthropology. Translation: if your jacket is vintage, your jeans are altered, and your story is real, you already have a head start.
Coastal club kids might scoff, but the real heat will come from Omaha basements, Tucson backyards, and Detroit living rooms where style is born from scarcity, not stylists. Vogue wants that friction, that ingenuity—clothes that had to fight their way into being.
Download, shoot, submit. The clock runs out at 11:59 p.m. ET on April 1. After that, the gates slam shut and the editors retreat to decide who gets minted overnight. Fame used to knock; now it pings your phone.
