Princess Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, made a rare public appearance alongside her father King Charles III and stepmother Queen Camilla at a Cancer Research UK gala in London on Tuesday.

Cancer's personal connection

The event marked the first time the Princess of Wales and King Charles have publicly supported a cause that is deeply personal to both of them. In 2024, they separately revealed they had been diagnosed with cancer, with the King undergoing ongoing treatment and the Princess announcing she was in remission after completing preventative chemotherapy the same year.

This isn't the first time Kate has shown her support for cancer survivors and research. In 2025, she left a heartfelt note at an installation honoring those who had lost their lives to the disease, saying, 'At this time, I am also thinking of all those whose lives have been affected by cancer.
