Heartstopper's nick & charlie say goodbye in emotional farewell

As Heartstopper Forever streams on Netflix, the show's stars reflect on the profound impact the franchise has had on its audience and, in turn, on them.

From friendship to family

Nick Nelson (Kit Connor) and Charlie Spring (Joe Locke) have navigated their late teens together on screen, and the emotional attachment extends far beyond the characters themselves.

'It genuinely feels like family,' Locke says, echoing Connor's sentiment that they've become the people they are on the show.

Having served as executive producers on Heartstopper Forever, their input ensured the feature-length film would give the beloved characters the send-off they deserve.

'Being able to say goodbye to these characters in the right way feels really important,' Connor says.

As the cast prepares to move on from the Heartstopper universe, they acknowledge the sentimental atmosphere on set. 'We've kind of become the people we are on this show,' Connor admits, recalling his emotional response to filming his last scene with co-star Will Gao.
