Rihanna's chartreuse makeover signals a shift in fashion's hues

Rihanna's latest look in Mumbai is a bold statement against the reigning pastel trend, ushering in a new era of vibrant colors on the fashion scene.

The Beauty mogul stunned at her Fenty Beauty pop-up in a mock-neck top and flared leather skirt, both from Miguel Castro Freitas' fall 2026 collection for Mugler, in a striking shade of chartreuse. She complemented the bold look with asymmetrical heels in the same eye-catching color.

Rihanna honored her Indian hosts with an array of Manish Malhotra jewelry - gold bracelets adorned with rainbow cabochons, intricate earrings, and a hathphool that wound up her arm.

This isn't the first time Rihanna has disrupted fashion's color palette. She famously wore a marigold Guo Pei gown to the 2015 Met Gala, practically inventing the color yellow. Now, her allegiance to chartreuse threatens to topple butter yellow's long reign.
